Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the role of motivation in improving employee performance at the Periuk Village Office, Tangerang City. With the title The Role of Work Motivation in Improving Employee Performance at the Periuk Village Office, Tangerang City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The unit of analysis is employees at the Periuk Village Office, Tangerang City. The data collection methods used are observation, in-depth interviews with key informants, focus group discussions (FGD), documentation studies, literature and SWOT analysis. The collected data were analyzed descriptively with the flow: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) data validity check. In order to obtain data validity, an analysis was carried out through (1) internal validity (2) external validity and (3) reliability. From the results of this study it can be concluded that, from the results of interviews with key informants, providing comprehensive motivation is very important to improve employee performance effectively and efficiently. However, providing physiological motivation such as clothing, food, and shelter and the need for appreciation have not been met properly. Fulfillment of physiological needs of employees is very important in improving employee performance. By fulfilling physiological needs, it can increase employee work motivation and employee work performance can also improve well. The application of motivation at the Periuk Urban Village Office, Tangerang City can improve employee performance. With high employee performance, everything that is done can be completed well. The strategy is implemented in conditions that are very supportive of aggressive growth policies
