Abstract

The background of this research is to analyze the leadership of managers in improving the performance of employees of PT First Media Tbk. The focus of this research is to determine the leadership role of managers in improving the performance of PT First Media Tbk and to determine the role of employee manager leadership relationships in improving the performance of PT First Media Tbk. This research method is a qualitative research method with descriptive narrative type. This research was conducted by collecting respondents using observation and interviews. The Infromants of this research are the manager and several employees of PT First Media Tbk. The results showed that the Manager of PT First Media Tbk applied several approaches such as a charismatic and democratic approach. The charismatic approach is carried out to maintain relationships with subordinates so that the implementation of tasks can be carried out properly while increasing that the relationship is based on rationality not power, while the democratic approach makes it easier for leaders to develop responsibilities such as involving employeesin decision making, but not only that Managers also apply a leadership approach others such as charismatic leadership. Then there are several factors such as personal factors and team factors.
