Abstract

This study aims explain the lack of work discipline in the Mandiri Jaya Service 2 car workshop in Pamulang, South Tangerang and the decline in employee performance caused by the lack of work discipline in the Mandiri Jaya Service 2 car workshop in Pamulang, South Tangerang. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The data collection procedures used are observation, interviews, and documentation review. The informants involved in this study were 5 (five) people consisting of the workshop owner, workshop head, and 3 (three) mechanics. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of work discipline in the Mandiri Jaya Service 2 car workshop is still not optimal. This can be seen from the violations of work discipline, namely the presence of several employees who do not come according to the schedule determined by the workshop management, and the work environment factor that does not support operations while working is one of the obstacles to declining employee performance. This condition directly affects work discipline. The decline in employee performance is due to a lack of work discipline caused by several aspects that are of primary concern, namely the lack of support for the work environment and compliance with the rules in force at the Mandiri Jaya Service 2 workshop. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the workshop management improve the level of work discipline by facilitating employees with a safe and comfortable work environment and providing special training and motivation for employees of the Mandiri Jaya Service 2 car workshop in Pamulang, South Tangerang, in order to improve employee performance and provide a sense of security and comfort in the future.
