Abstract

Selecting the best band for an event is often a challenge because it involves various complex criteria, both quantitative and qualitative. Factors such as the number of listeners on Spotify, the number of followers on Instagram, the band's stage price, live performances, and the quality of the music are important considerations that are difficult to assess objectively if only relying on intuition or personal opinion. The lack of a decision support system that is able to manage all of these aspects in a structured manner can lead to inconsistent and subjective selection.

 

To answer this problem, this study uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in designing a decision support system. AHP was chosen because it is able to break down complex problems into a systematic hierarchical structure and allows weighting between criteria based on pairwise comparisons. The research was conducted through the stages of system requirements analysis, interface design, calculation of criteria weights, and system testing using user data and alternative bands assessed based on predetermined criteria. The results of the study show that the system built is able to help the process of selecting the best band more objectively and efficiently. The system can display band rankings based on the final value obtained from all the criteria considered. With this approach, event organizers can make more accurate and accountable decisions, and improve the quality of the audience experience by selecting the right band that meets expectations.
