Abstract

The effectiveness and efficiency of financial management are crucial pillars for any organization, including educational institutions like SMP PGRI 363 Pondok Petir. Initial observations revealed that the school's financial administration predominantly relied on manual methods, such as ledgers, paper records, and basic spreadsheets like Excel. This approach proved susceptible to errors, hindered reporting accuracy, and resulted in a lack of integrated systems for accessing financial information. Consequently, this research focuses on designing and developing a web-based financial application tailored to the specific needs of SMP PGRI 363 Pondok Petir. The application's development employed the Agile Methodology, recognized for its iterative and flexible approach. Data collection involved direct observation within the school environment, in-depth interviews with the Headmaster and financial administrative staff, and a comprehensive study of relevant financial documentation. A web-based approach was selected due to its inherent advantages in accessibility, data centralization, automation, and security. The application is engineered to manage student data, record registration and monthly tuition (SPP) payments, and facilitate the generation of basic financial reports. Access to this system will be restricted to the financial administrative staff and school management. The implementation of this web-based financial application has profoundly transformed financial management at SMP PGRI 363 Pondok Petir. The system's capacity to automatically generate financial reports provides enhanced visibility into the school's financial health, supports strategic decision-making, and strengthens accountability and transparency. Ease of access to structured data increases the confidence of various parties in the school's financial management.
