Abstract

The process of recording and managing guest data at the Directorate of Primary Education is still done manually using a physical guest book, which leads to several operational obstacles.  These issues include difficulties in searching for past visitor data, a high risk of data loss or damage, inefficiencies in registration time, and inaccuracies in the recorded data.  To address these problems, a Web-Based Digital Guest Book System was developed.  This research aims to design and build a functional digital guest book system and implement the Waterfall software development method systematically.  The Waterfall method was chosen for its structured and sequential approach, which is suitable for projects with clear and stable requirements.  The system was built using the Nuxt framework for both frontend and backend development, and SQLite was used for the database management system due to its simplicity and efficiency.  The development process followed the stages of the Waterfall model: requirements analysis, system design using UML (Use Case, Activity Diagram, ERD), implementation, and testing.  The result is a digital guest book application that facilitates efficient and secure guest data registration, search, and reporting, thereby overcoming the limitations of the manual system.
