The Effect of Virtual Team Communication on IT Project Management Effectiveness During the Remote Working Era
Abstract
Changes in work patterns due to technological advancements and the COVID-19 pandemic have driven many organizations, particularly in the field of information technology (IT), to adopt remote work systems. In this context, virtual team communication has become a crucial component in ensuring successful project management. This study aims to analyze the influence of virtual team communication on the effectiveness of IT project management during the remote work era. A quantitative research method was used, employing a survey approach involving respondents from various companies conducting virtual IT projects. Data were collected using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire and analyzed through simple linear regression to examine the relationship between communication quality variables and project effectiveness. The results indicate a significant relationship between the quality of virtual team communication—including communication frequency, information clarity, and the use of communication media—and the effectiveness of IT project execution. These findings highlight the importance of adaptive and collaborative communication strategies in virtual work environments. This study provides practical insights for project managers in managing virtual teams and serves as a foundation for further research on project management in the digital era.
