Tilapia cultivation in Indonesia has experienced a lot of improvement with the emergence of several breeding strains of tilapia. According to the KKP (2018), tilapia production in 2016 was 1,114,156 tons, in 2017 and 2018 tilapia production increased again with amounts of 1,265,201 tons and 1,169,144 tons respectively. The activity of growing seeds in fish is the beginning of activities in cultivation, most importantly because it can influence subsequent activities, namely nursery and rearing of broodstock. Overall hatchery includes brood care, brood sorting, breeding and larval rearing. Fish hatchery is one part of fish farming activities by mating broodstock to get young that are ready to be marketed. This article is the result of community service activities to provide material about tilapia fish hatcheries through outreach, so that people can carry out their own tilapia fish hatcheries.
2025-03-10T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Abdi Jurnal Publikasi https://jurnal.portalpublikasi.id/index.php/AJP/article/view/1728 POLA PENGGUNAAN AIR UMBUL PANGLONG UNTUK KEHIDUPAN MASYARAKAT DI NAGORI PARIKSABUNGAN, KECAMATAN DOLOK PARDAMEAN, KABUPATEN SIMALUNGUN PROVINSI SUMATERA UTARA 2025-03-17T05:28:08+07:00 Yohanes Singal Lumban Gaol ajp@ajp.com Novdika Laurencia Pandiangan ajp@ajp.com Dani Raju Nasib Naibaho ajp@ajp.com Mardame Pangihutan Sinaga ajp@ajp.com
This study examines the patterns of water usage from Umbul Panglong in Nagori Pariksabungan, Dolok Pardamean District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. Data collection was conducted using a mixed-method approach, combining direct observation and interviews with several household heads representing diverse water users. The research findings classify water usage into three main categories: (1) Domestic needs, including drinking water consumption, cooking, bathing, and washing, which are the community’s top priorities; (2) Agricultural activities, particularly for irrigating rice fields and farms that support local food security; and (3) Productive economic activities such as fish farming, small-scale livestock raising, and home industries that require a clean water supply. Water usage patterns are influenced by factors such as water resource availability, seasonal variations, socioeconomic conditions, and local wisdom in natural resource management. The study reveals the existence of a traditional community-based water management system rooted in mutual cooperation (gotong royong), which has been practiced for generations. However, this system faces challenges due to changing weather patterns and increasing water demand. The existing water distribution system requires improvements to ensure more equitable and sustainable access.
2025-03-17T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Abdi Jurnal Publikasi https://jurnal.portalpublikasi.id/index.php/AJP/article/view/1729 PERANAN MAHASISWA KPPM DALAM MELAKSAKANAN KEGIATAN TAMBAHAN DI NAGORI PARIKSABUNGAN KECAMATAN DOLOK PARDAMEAN KABUPATEN SIMALUNGUN PROVINSI SUMATERA UTARA 2025-03-17T05:28:54+07:00 Cristhyn Agustina Damanik ajp@ajp.com Ivanca Christine Rosaline Harahap ajp@ajp.com Gilbert Togi Silalahi ajp@ajp.com David Purba ajp@ajp.com Mardame Pangihutan Sinaga ajp@ajp.com
The Practice Lecture and Student Service Activity (KPPM) aims to dedicate service to the community and help address various issues faced by society while applying the knowledge acquired through academic education. This community service activity aims to provide education to business groups through cognitive aspects about tilapia enlargement cultivation in tarpaulin ponds in the community in Labuhan Hamlet, Tigaras Village. This community service includes field visits (surveys), counseling, training, evaluation, and monitoring after counseling and training. So far, the target community group in Labuhan Hamlet has been able to design, build their own ponds, and be able to cultivate tilapia using tarpaulin ponds. Furthermore, the results of evaluation and monitoring show that the people of Labuhan Hamlet do not face significant obstacles in cultivating fish in tarpaulin ponds. Some of them even tried to design and build their own tarpaulin ponds independently. This is a strong indication of the openness and acceptance of the Labuhan Hamlet community towards the application of fish farming technology that is still relatively new to the Labuhan Hamlet community.
2025-03-17T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Abdi Jurnal Publikasi
